Dear  Janet

Well I can honestly say that this is a task I thought I would never have to do. But, as we have learned recently, life is indeed extremely fragile and very precious.

Dealing with the sudden, traumatic loss of my dear wife Sharon, myself, my daughters Levi and Kara and everyone else from Sharon’s family and close network of friends were forced into a situation that we never thought would occur at a tender age.

However, for myself, Levi and Kara, it was still necessary to organise a celebration of Sharon’s life whilst still coming to terms with her loss.

We cannot speak highly enough of the fantastic service provided by you and your brother John. You’ve helped the process run exactly as Sharon would have wanted whilst providing a truly caring and sympathetic approach to everything.  It’s such a pleasure in this day and age to find a business with such true family values willing to go the extra mile to ensure that everything was faultless.

I know that I speak for my entire family when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your fantastic support and compassion shown to us during this incredibly difficult time.

I am certain anyone dealing with the loss of a loved one would be very wise to consider your excellent services.

Many thanks and god bless you.

Darren Halliwell

Dear Janet and John

From the moment of meeting Janet, as your business was recommended to us, and coming into
your warm and welcoming premises, everything was taken care of to such a high standards that it made a difficult day, very special for all of us.

Always one to look for connections, it felt “right” that Wayne was the dad of an ex pupil of mine
(albeit Sam had no clue who I was!!) and I looked no further. I was made to feel that getting me through the “process” and all that it entailed, would be ably supported with reassurances and suggestions based on years of experience. I never felt pressured to make choices or decisions; I was not hurried or made to feel others were clock-watching during my initial meeting. It felt relaxed, supportive and very informative so I could ask almost anything in the open and honest atmosphere created.

Following up shortly afterwards and including my sister in the proceedings, which I do realise caused a delay in some decision making, again we were not time admonished, nor made to feel a hindrance, just that it was as important for you, as well as us, in getting everything right! For which we were grateful and appreciative, despite taking up more of your time (and Wayne’s)

I loved that we felt included in checking all the finer details; from the Order of Service, with the readings, psalms, gospel, hymns and poems being read out, to the choices we made for floral arrangements, to which church and priest to use, together with the crematorium, along with more personal decisions regarding Mum’s final arrangements. Even by being given catalogues to persue at leisure, with more difficult decisions of an urn to choose, or the more personal choice of having a piece of jewellery made with the ashes, at no time were we rushed or asked to hand back the catalogues until we felt ready to do so

On the day we all felt that you certainly took care of us. You both appeared looking stunning!! Even better dressed than we were!! Your colleagues Dave and Jimmy were respectful and discrete, doing their jobs in the background but ensuring everything went smoothly. Even down to my sister and me forgetting to check the priest was in a car for the crematorium, it was already in hand (of course) and he was sitting on his way in another car. Duh!!!

Having little experience of a funeral with which to base any preconceptions, the day was planned to perfection. I especially loved all your little touches; how to bow to the coffin, doffing hats in respect and reverence, to show us the flower arrangements prior to setting off and by popping in our personal messages beforehand making us feel cared for with your attentiveness

It was VERY supportive to have you join us in the church, keeping the coffin bearers in check discreetly on when to do things, gathering the left Order of Services to post onto family and friends later, keeping us right with every step of the way in a kind, caring and supportive manner. Even to giving me a hug when I needed it most; with a smile of encouragement that we could all get through it. Additionally for supporting the children, Conor and Chloe, with words of praise that their Nana would be proud of them; it was done in an empathetic, kind, supportive way.

A friend even text me following the Mass and crematorium saying “the funeral directors you found were unbelievable, so caring and down to earth and not like any I’ve seen before” and Lynne's just buried her dad, so she had first hand experience of using someone else

I am grateful you were able to join us, even though for a short time only at La Cava to celebrate Mum’s life by having a drink, great food and chat with new friends. It was a beautiful day; I could not believe that despite being forecast for rain it was gorgeous and the sun shone through. I would like to believe that Mum had a hand in that ha ha!!! It made the day more bearable in the gorgeous surroundings of firstly St Teresa’s then Howe Bridge, and all the sunshine too.

Thanking you seems such a small way to convey my true heartfelt praise and admiration of you and your “boys” for all your attentiveness, professionalism and courtesy extended to all who have the pleasure of meeting you both, but I do from the bottom of my heart; as you made a difficult day very special fir us all my Mum would have been very moved by all the love shown

Much love
